Vision

My vision is to become the global online resource for Mon Traditional Instruments. I aim to celebrate and make accessible the unique sounds and craftsmanship of these instruments, ensuring the Mon cultural legacy continues to inspire people worldwide.

Mission

My mission is to thoroughly document, preserve, and promote the Mon musical instruments using detailed digital resources. This includes providing historical context, information on the Mon people is made and played, and engaging multimedia.

values

My values center on authenticity and respect for Mon culture in all the content. I prioritize preservation of knowledge, education through accessible resources, and building a strong community among Mon musicians, makers, and enthusiasts who share a passion for these instruments.

An essential component of the Mon people’s artistic legacy and sense of cultural identity are their musical instruments. These instruments have been used in religious rites, royal ceremonies, and traditional festivals for more than a millennium. Instruments like the kyam (crocodile-shaped zither), hta-na (harp), and bat kine (crescent gong) are examples of the Mon people’s sophisticated musical heritage; they are expertly crafted and symbolic. In addition to their musical role, they are instruments for spiritual expression, cultural transmission, and historical preservation. To preserve the rich intangible heritage of the Mon people, these instruments must be protected.
